A Lifetime of Sculpting

Vicky Baker Grant

"A sculpture doesn’t stop time - it gives it a place to live"

With over two decades of professional sculpting, Vicky Baker Grant is an accomplished portraitist. Her career at Madame Tussauds allowed her to learn from incredibly talented sculptors which she knows influences all of her sculptures.

Background

Vicky trained at the prestigious Wimbledon School of Art, where she immersed herself in classical anatomy, traditional plaster mould-making and silicon, and sculpting in Clay.

24 Years at Madame Tussauds

Following her studies, Vicky spent 24 years at Madame Tussauds in London and globally. Working at the pinnacle of hyper-realistic portraiture, she sculpted figures of world leaders, historical champions, and cultural icons. This quarter-century of rigorous precision refined her ability to capture not just a mechanical likeness, but also the spirit of the person.

Under the Magnolia Tree

Today, Vicky operates from her private, tranquil garden studio in Kingston, named after the magnolia tree that frames its entrance. The studio is the definition of a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

Whether working on bespoke portrait commissions, capturing the micro-detail of an infant’s hand in a luxury lifecasting experience, or mentoring a small class around the clay table, Vicky invites her patrons into a calm and peaceful cocoon of clay work.
